Caring for your dog at The Vet

We do everything we possibly can to make a visit to The Vet a stress-free experience for your dog. This helps when you visit us for the vaccinations and advice that are essential for maintaining your dog’s health and wellbeing.

Dog-friendly waiting area

We keep cats and dogs safely apart here at The Vet, with an entirely separate dog-only waiting area. Dogs are routinely weighed on every visit, so they’ll be individually greeted by the receptionist. All dogs are kept on a lead in the waiting area, so if your dog is nervous, you’ll find it easier to reassure him or her when all the other pets are safely under control.

Comfort for rest and recuperation

Each dog has an individual, spacious walk-in kennel to prevent cross-infection between patients and a padded, comfortable bed for recuperation. There’s always a member of our team close at hand to see how they’re getting on.

Warm and cool temperature control

Temperature control is always important for dogs – but especially when they may be vulnerable while they’re ill or following surgery. Our canine patients are provided with heat pads if required during their stay with air conditioning for those hot, sunny days. We keep a close eye on the thermometer so that we can be sure the ideal temperature is maintained for a swift recovery.

Feeding for recovery

We feed each dog food that will support his or her specific dietary needs and speed the recovery process. Rest assured that the food we supply is easily digestible to provide all the necessary nutrition. Depending on your dog’s treatment plan, it may be possible to incorporate their preferred dog food, but successful recuperation will be our first priority. If you have any questions about your dog’s treatment, please feel free to drop in or give us a call.
